University classes have also participated in tours, and have pursued short and long-term projects to assist with various facets of the development of Lake Conestee Nature Park. For example, Clemson University’s Architecture and Landscape Architecture departments contributed to the LCNP Master Planning Process through three studio courses. Through these studios students designed plans for community development, environmental education facilities, and recreational features to be included in the park.
Greenville Technical College’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts has worked on projects with both photography and web design classes. Wofford College professors Dr. Ellen Goldey and John Lane have brought a group of students to Lake Conestee Nature Park each year as part of a “Learning Community” program. Students in this program take two linked Humanities and Science courses that integrate knowledge between these traditionally disparate disciplines.
